Sara is a senior associate attorney practicing in the areas of product liability defense, commercial litigation, and employment litigation. She has represented the interests of large corporate defendants in state and federal courts nationwide. In the area of product liability, Sara’s practice has included cases involving furnace valves, motors, alarm systems, water heaters, pharmaceuticals, and food-borne illnesses.
Sara was a member of a litigation defense team representing a motor manufacturer in numerous fire litigation cases. She researched and drafted a number of pleadings, including a motion for summary judgment, and the company ultimately reached a successful resolution of the claims on a global basis. Recently, she was a member of a litigation defense team that successfully litigated a multi-million dollar case involving allegations of strict liability and negligence resulting from a gas explosion, achieving a defense verdict for the manufacturer of the gas control valve. Sara’s courtroom experience includes second-chairing a jury trial and motion practice on clients’ behalf.
Sara attended law school after working for several years as a recruiter in the staffing industry. She earned her J.D. degree, cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law. While in law school, she competed on the Rosalie Wahl Moot Court team, was a judicial intern to Judge Thorwald Anderson of Hennepin County District Court, and was a three-year recipient of the Founder’s Scholarship for academic excellence. She also volunteered with the Tubman Family Alliance as a legal advocate.
