Rich Student joined Gaskins Bennett Birrell Schupp LLP in March 2011. Rich earned his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School. While in law school, Rich served as an editor for the Minnesota Journal of International Law. The Journal published his article regarding antitrust legislation in China, entitled China’s New Anti-Monopoly Law: Addressing Foreign Competitors and Commentators, in its Summer 2008 edition. During law school, Rich also served as a research assistant for Professor Prentiss Cox, and as an extern for the Honorable Magistrate Janie S. Mayeron.
Prior to joining the firm, Rich practiced with Birrell & Newmark, Ltd. in Minneapolis with current Gaskins Bennett Birrell Schupp LLP partners Andrew Birrell and Eric Newmark. Rich currently practices in the areas of criminal defense, civil rights, and personal injury. He has significant experience litigating, settling and trying criminal and civil cases in state and federal court.
